In this study, 5 pairs of siblings were interviewed to see if they had rivalry between them and how it affected their lives, including how they resolve conflict. Data was then analyzed through thematic anaysis per sibling pair, then collectively through a cross-case analysis. Findings show that the factors that affected the pairs' relationships, including the development of sibling rivalry, include parental influence and their relationship with their sibling. Sibling rivalry (or lack thereof) also affected their sibling relationship, their relationship with their parents, and personality development, including career choice, among others. Finally, the sibling pairs resolved conflict through natural resolution, giving each other spaces for a while, and through verbal communication. 2017-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_bachelors/8866 Bachelor's Theses English Animo Repository Sibling rivalry Competition (Psychology) Brothers and sisters Conflict (Psychology) Families Psychology |
