Description
Summary:This is an exploratory study on single fathers which aims to discover just who these fathers are, what it is they go through, and what becomes of them because of their experience. With in-depth interviews done with a non-probability sample of 30 men, it was found that the definitions of the single father vary, as do the circumstances surrounding his becoming one. Majority of the single fathers in the study were unmarried men without custody of their children as good, with the fathers' role as financial provider. Correspondingly, the leading difficulty of single fathers was financial pressure, and the change in character and lifestyle was that of gaining a new or better perspective of life.
