Summary: | Using quantitative methods, this study aimed to determine the relationship of physical and mental training with the Sports Emotional-Reaction Profile created by Tutko and Tosi (1976). This test includes seven psychological traits, namely desire, assertiveness, sensitivity, tension control, confidence, personal accountability and self-discipline. As such, seventy five male Philippine intercollegiate basketball players from five different colleges were surveyed and tested. Based from data obtained, it was concluded that the type of physical training had a very weak but significant impact on desire and confidence. Mental training, on the other hand, was concluded to have a significant correlation with assertiveness, sensitivity, tension control, confidence, and self-discipline. |
