Summary:This study aimed to look into how autonomy and gender impact the success of Filipino adolescents, specifically in the areas of academic achievement, social acceptance, and self-esteem. Using a two-way analysis of variance, results show that autonomy does indeed have a significant influence on the three areas of success. Gender also has an impact on academic achievement and social acceptance, with females displaying higher success levels than males. On the other hand, males and females show no significant differences in the levels of autonomy and self-esteem scores. These results carry implications for both adolescents and developmental psychologists in the Philippines.
