Description
Summary:Few studies have been made about professor - student relationships, which is to be expected these days due to the modernization and liberalization of public minds. The researchers interviewed 10 college undergraduate students who had or is having a relationship with their professors. The researchers used qualitative method of research and had an in-depth interview with each student on how the relationship progressed, the advantages and disadvantages of such along with how they cope with the said disadvantages. Results indicated that in the developmental stage of the relationship, it was due to mere attraction and constant communication and presence, while the advantage that stood out was having a mature partner and on the other hand, the disadvantages were evident as well due to the unacceptability of this type of relationship. Gossips, family issues and restrictions are some that surfaced and as a means of coping would be the adjustments needed for the relationship to work and having a positive outlook in general.
