Its effective academic management will enhance delivery, services and improvement of the special students' performance. A case study of five existing special education centers in selected Metro Manila schools was conducted. The present study aimed to develop an academic management model for special education centers in Metro Manila. The data from interviews, document analysis, and archival records after the qualitative analysis arrived with a contemporary framework, guidelines, and best practices that described academic management of special education centers. The cases were described in the areas of control, productivity, curriculum, connectivity, and assessment. It was found in the study that the same standards on control, curriculum, connectivity, assessment, and productivity exist among the centers described. However, the descriptions vary in the implementation and expectation in the Philippine setting. An additional strand was found in the study that describes standards on special support services. The standard on assessment was modified into educational assessment focused especially on the function of selection. 2013-07-01T07:00:00Z text application/pdf https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_doctoral/1255 https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=2256&context=etd_doctoral Dissertations English Animo Repository Special education--Philippines School management and organization--Philippines Academic achievement--Students Educational Leadership Special Education Administration |
