A user-friendly editor program, using a DOS-based TURBO VISION software, coupled with a Sound Blaster speech synthesizer, and accompanied by a text to braille translator program, using the C++ language, forms the software part of the thesis. The hardware part would have a modified keyboard for its input device, and a modified printer to provide a hard-copy output in braille. The user would also have an option of having a hard-copy output in text by using a conventional printer. With the editor system, the blind can now effectively communicate not only with other blind people, but also with normal people as well. 1995-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_honors/63 Honors Theses English Animo Repository Reading devices for people with disabilities Communication devices for people with disabilities Blind Apparatus for the Blind-- Printing and writing systems Blind--Education Computer systems Turbo vision Engineering
