Description
Summary:The Real-Time Numerically Automated Machine Vision for Chip Marking Quality Control or RETINA is a numerically controlled hardware that automates marking inspection of any packaged integrated circuit. The heart of the hardware is a COPS microcontroller which controls the pneumatic sorter that picks defective chis from the rotating dish while it is visually inspected by a computer equipped with a Video Blaster card. The pattern verification software uses the Video Blaster directly and uses numerical means to process the acquired IC image. The system can stand alone without human intervention once the chips have been loaded and proper parameters have been entered into the system.
