The heart of the hardware is a COPS microcontroller which controls the pneumatic sorter that picks defective chis from the rotating dish while it is visually inspected by a computer equipped with a Video Blaster card. The pattern verification software uses the Video Blaster directly and uses numerical means to process the acquired IC image.
