Wu, Henry C. Fast-paced manufacturing and business trends demand higher flexibility in many, if not all, aspects of production. Measuring and designing techniques are no exception. The goal of this thesis is to design and fabricate a 3D Laser Scanner that would accomplish point cloud generation of three-dimensional objects. Scanning a 3D image and sending the scan to prototyping or CAD software programs saves not only hours of painstaking work, but quite a large amount of money as well. Embracing this new technology of reverse engineering, allows firms both large and small to meet the computing challenges that are pivotal to their competitive strength. Laser scanning can provide a considerable change for improved quality and accelerated time to market, while reducing costs for new products. 2003-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_honors/325 Honors Theses English Animo Repository Optical scanners Computer aided design Lasers--Industrial applications Image processing Computer vision
