Salazar, Abigail Therese L. Taguba, Camille A. Villanueva, Monique F. Establishing proper leadership styles among small and medium enterprises is crucial in effectively managing a firm and achieving success. The study focused on identifying which among the three leadership styles of Filipino managers, namely transformational, transactional and laissez-faire leadership style, results to a higher level of job satisfaction, organizational commitment, and developmental opportunities, and the moderating role of gender is this relationship. The researchers tested the significance of these variables by administering survey questionnaires to 120 employees and 30 managers from 30 manufacturing SME. Moreover, the researchers interviewed six managers and 30 employees to help in performing triangulation. Afterwards, the researchers found out that both transformational and transactional leadership style have a significant relationship with the three dependent variables of the study. On the other hand, laissez-faire has a significant relationship only with job satisfaction and organizational commitment. The researchers also found out that female manager gender positively moderates the relationship of the leadership style of a manager and the dependent variables. The results of the study allowed the researchers to recommend that Filipino manufacturing companies should exercise and provide trainings for managers in line with transformational leadership style, so that they, in turn, can improve their relationship with their employees. 2012-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_honors/379 Honors Theses English Animo Repository |
