A fuzzy logic controller was developed for the control of an arterial traffic signal system consisting of three successive intersections with three-phase and four-phase traffic plan. Computer simulation was conducted to test and fine-tune the fuzzy logic controller. Testing and analysis was done by varying the traffic flow from non-congested to congested conditions.
