Description
Summary:The aim of this research is to examine the core concepts of La Sallian leadership as they are applied La Salle schools in the Vietnam context, where many societal problems affect change and progress in the educational environment. The research which has contributed to this discussion uses the qualitative case study approach by Yin (2009) in analyzing data from four school leaders selected from the four La Salle schools in Vietnam, three from the suburban area of Ho Chi Minh City and one from the rural area of Gia Lai Province. The results of the study generally show that the core concepts of La Sallian Leadership are quite clearly demonstrated through leadership's experiences, thoughts and actions. This study covers the following broad categories: (1) Knowledge of leadership (d) Leadership behavior described by Setting directions, Developing people Managing and developing an educational organization and, (3) Spiritual dimensions in leadership. It also tries to develop a framework of La Sallian leadership, which will give a better understanding of differences in leadership practices and may also allow for a more successful response to the needs of Vietnamese La Sallian school leaders.
