Summary: | Cascos Inc., founded in 2012, is a distribution company that specializes in high quality sport and tech brands in the Philippines. The company distributes the following brands: JBL (Sports), Yurbuds Sport Earphones, Salice Eyewear, Tune Belt Sport Belts, Leef Mobile Memory, and Zensah Compression in the Philippines. Cascos Inc. has been present in numerous running, triathlon and cycling events, making it one of the most visible companies in the multisport community. Despite having limited experience in retailing, Cascos Inc. ventured into retail in June 2016, opening its own multi-brand store in Alabang Town Center under Raphas Gear. By using the action research process, we identified that we had a problem regarding the process of acquiring sales data from our retail store. As a team, we decided to formalize our sales reporting system for our first store because this will help the company get vital information faster and make our work easier. The sales reporting system can also be eventually used in our future branches. This action research project sought to find the best solution for the issue we encountered through the collaborative efforts of our team. We came up with two action research cycles that lead to two interventions. The first was the development of the Daily Sales Report Sheet which was used to formalize the day-to-day reporting of store sales to ensure accuracy of information given. The second intervention was the implementation of the daily DSR submission via Viber group to ensure that reports are sent on-time. |
