Task management is an essential component of workplace organization. It aims to simplify and assist us on how we do our everyday work. This establishes a more organized approach to our responsibilities, enabling us to deliver well on the job. In the Online Gaming industry, numerous tasks and deliverables are required of support teams due to its fast-paced and dynamic business model. As one of the core support teams of the business, the Central Operations team handles and resolves most of the internal and external inquiries that arise everyday. However, the rapid growth by the business brought about an increase in work load, resulting to the team struggling to manage its deliverables. The author and his collaborators uncovered the issue behind this was a lack of a proper task management system/tool in place. To resolve this issue, the Ops Tool was developed to assist the team in managing its everyday work. The initial reception by the team on the tool was great, and the percentage of late tasks started to decrease. However, a weak implementation plan in the first cycle led to the disregard of the tools use in the span of two months. With the help of Lewins 3-stage change framework, an intervention was successfully made, leaning to the Ops Tool being integrated into the teams operational processes. The team realized the significant impact that it had, and using it became a habit moving forward. As a result, they were able to deliver their tasks on time, while at the same time learning to manage their work easily. 2017-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_masteral/5327 Master's Theses English Animo Repository Internet games industry Task analysis Time management |
