Description
Summary:This action research intended to enhance the performance of test execution of the Workbrain Testing Team of Safeway Philtech. By introducing Microsoft Excel as an automation tool to help the testers in their test execution and results analysis, implementation of the new automation tool was done using two action research cycles. Four steps of action research constructing, planning action, taking action and evaluation, in both cycles were incorporated. By means of collaboration with the key people test manager, test leads and test analysts, the team was able to address the issues of the new automation tool during its application. Furthermore, during these two cycles, the team has agreed to use both the old (HP Unified Function Testing), and new (Microsoft Excel Macros) automation tools for test execution. Through collaborative efforts, and change management process, the new automation tool was successfully incorporated in the testing team. In doing so, we pursued to build collaborative (and social) relationships amongst us as a team. And by aligning this action research with the teams goals of test efficiency, quality control and quality assurance, the testing execution of the team improved vastly.
