Through this procedure, behavior plans or intervention strategies were implemented. These intervention strategies focused on the use of replacement or alternative behaviors while reducing and/or eliminating the targeted problem behaviors of the CWA. Six cases were involved. These were from the Pasay SPED Center including their parents/guardians and their SPED teachers. Interviews were conducted among the parents and teacher respondents using a validated questionnaire adapted from Behavioral Approach to Assessment of Youth with Emotional Behavioral Disorders - A Handbook for School-Based Practitioners(1996). Observation on the cases were conducted which led to the identification of the target behavior that was first tried out before its implementation. That needed functional analysis, intervention strategies, positive and negative reinforcement. It was found out that the intervention strategies reduced and/or eliminated the target stereotypical behaviors of the CWA involved. The use of functional analysis and the alternative chosen intervention strategies increased the efficiency and success of the use of replacement or alternative behaviors while reducing and/or eliminating the target behavior. Out of the 6 cases, 5 had her target behaviors reduced and 1 had their target behaviors eliminated. 2005-01-01T08:00:00Z text application/pdf https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_masteral/5891 https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/cgi/viewcontent.cgi?article=12815&context=etd_masteral Master's Theses English Animo Repository Children with mental disabilities--Behavior modification--Research Autistic children--Behavior modification--Research Special Education and Teaching
