Summary:This study presented the development and evaluation of staffing and training strategies for Save on Surplus (SOS) using descriptive research and qualitative approach to data analysis. Fifty three (53) participants participated in staffing and training strategies while one (1) human resource practitioner and seven (7) managers of SOS were interviewed for context and cost evaluations. Staffing strategies results suggested reduction of eight (8) workforce from production and warehouse departments and reassignment of three (3) employees from production and franchise departments. Trainings identified weremaximization of skills, reassignment, basic analytical skills, negotiating successfully, purchasing negotiations and leadership enhancement. As determined by the evaluators, the staffing and training strategies were deemed appropriate and addressed the right sizing and developmental objective of SOS. Cost efficiency objective was addressed in right sizing revealed savings amounted to P80, 773.95 in projected number of workforce versus the existing workforce. Training revealed a savings of P251, 779.09 per participant as compared to the annual training budget per participant of SOS.
