Roanne Q. This study determined how the factors identified in Gilbert’s Behavioral Engineering Model contribute to the performance gap of newly-hired Supervision and Examination Specialists of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP). The perception of the newly-hired Supervision and Examination Specialists were studied vis-à-vis their performance ratings to determine which among the factors influence their performance. The study involved the responses of 98 newly-hired examiners of the Supervision and Examination Sector of the BSP. The study revealed that there was a lack of feedback from supervisors to guide the newly hired Supervision and Examination Specialists in their job. This lack of feedback not only lengthened the time before the newly-hired Supervision and Examination Specialists can submit their output but also increases the probability of committing errors. Lack of ample time was also another factor which seems to impede excellent performance according to the respondents. The supervisors suggested that training using materials/examples being used by the examiners in their daily work be implemented. To address the lack of feedback, coaching was highly encouraged by the researcher. A suggestion to revisit the recruitment parameters was also proposed. 2010-12-01T08:00:00Z text application/pdf https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etd_masteral/6467 https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/context/etd_masteral/article/13008/viewcontent/CDTG004943_P.pdf Master's Theses English Animo Repository Central Bank of the Philippines—Officials and employees—Rating of Bank employees—Rating of—Philippines Industrial and Organizational Psychology |
