Description
Summary:This Action Research is about the establishment an inventory management monitoring system for the stockroom of company AB. The issue needed to be addressed immediately before it gets out of hand. The mismanagement of the stockroom in Company AB has led to losses both in terms of money and time. The losses could have been avoided had there been a monitoring system in place. Aided by the methodologies of Action Research, we were able to determine focal issue that there is No Monitoring System for Parts, Materials, Equipment in the company. this was discovered via inquiries, meetings and discussions among and between the employees of company AB. To solve this issue, we decided to implement an inventory management monitoring system, which in the long haul would lead to a more efficient and effective operations for company AB. After two action research cycles, we were able to put in place an inventory management monitoring system. The implementation was aided by the ADKAR Change Management model of Jeff Haiti. This change management model introduces change in each person of an organization and once successful for an employee in an organization, this will translate to a change to the organization as well. This action research greatly helped me in realizing that it is important to be grounded and pragmatic in dealing with things. Equally as important is not rushing head-on but taking a step back in order to assess things sensibly and realistically to arrive at a practical solution that is void of theoretical and emotional influences.
