Description
Summary:The study assessed the relationships between and among the dimensions of organizational culture and employee engagement in a selected tertiary academic institution. The Organizational Culture Survey (OCS) by Glaser and Associates and E3 Employee Engagement Survey by Development Dimensions International were administered among the lay administrators and staff of the school. Results revealed a favourable organizational culture specifically on Customer Service, Morale and Employee Involvement. Employee engagement was likewise high particularly on Empowerment, Development Plans and Satisfaction and Loyalty. Although there was a high and significant relationship between organizational culture and employee engagement, specific dimensions as Empowerment was found to have no significant relationship with Information Flow and Supervision. The interview method conducted among the bottom 10% scorers in the questionnaires focusing on the items rated 2 and 1, aided in coming up with interventions geared in improving leadership, process and communications.
