Description
Summary:Every good supervisory program provides for the continuing education of teachers. Teacher education begins in colleges and universities, but most professionals would agree that four years of education, or even five, do not necessarily guarantee a professional performance in the classroom. Teachers must find better techniques and constantly maintain an awareness of the latest development in the field of education. In view of this, there is a need for every school to find out how teachers can update and acquire new competencies and skills. The main purpose of this study was to identify the faculty development needs of St. Scholastica's Academy of Tabunok, Talisay, Cebu, as they are preferred by the teachers and to ascertain the rank order of these needs. Twenty-one teachers are the subjects of this study. Used was the descriptive survey method which calls for the use of Personal Information Sheet and a questionnaire entitled, Faculty Development Needs Inventory. The data in all the questionnaires were tallied, compiled and recorded. Means were then tabulated and assigned ranks and the ranking system was used in finding the preferred development needs of the teachers.
