The aim of the study is to develop a priest-school directors’ leadership framework by coping with cognitive dissonance between their practice of distributed leadership and their hierarchical orientation as priests. To derive answers for the study, twelve priest-school directors of the Diocese of Imus Catholic Educational System (DICES) participated in the study as a single case. This study found that the priest-school directors developed coping practices on specific areas such as complementarity, changing leadership style, practicing Church norms, and increasing their cognitive dissonance. They also identified challenges, strategies, benefits, and learning in their practice of distributed leadership. As such, the priest-school directors developed a leadership framework that is characterized by practicing distributed leadership, forming and empowering leaders, practicing Church norms and culture, and dealing with cognitive dissonance. 2022-08-01T07:00:00Z text application/pdf https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/etdm_elmd/19 https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/context/etdm_elmd/article/1018/viewcontent/The_Distributed_Leadership_Practices_of_the_Priest_School_Directo_Redacted.pdf https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/context/etdm_elmd/article/1018/filename/0/type/additional/viewcontent/2022_Duroy_PreliminaryPages.pdf https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/context/etdm_elmd/article/1018/filename/1/type/additional/viewcontent/2022_Duroy_PagesWithSignature.pdf https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/context/etdm_elmd/article/1018/filename/2/type/additional/viewcontent/2022_Duroy_Chapter1.pdf https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/context/etdm_elmd/article/1018/filename/3/type/additional/viewcontent/2022_Duroy_Chapter2.pdf https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/context/etdm_elmd/article/1018/filename/4/type/additional/viewcontent/2022_Duroy_Chapter3.pdf https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/context/etdm_elmd/article/1018/filename/5/type/additional/viewcontent/2022_Duroy_Chapter4.pdf https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/context/etdm_elmd/article/1018/filename/6/type/additional/viewcontent/2022_Duroy_Appendices.pdf Educational Leadership and Management Master's Theses English Animo Repository Educational leadership Cognitive dissonance Leadership--Religious aspects Educational Leadership |
