Summary: | Abstract
This action research entails a participatory and democratic means of gradual and continuous improvement in the selected aspects of the parsed visa process flow, to sum up to an immense impact on visa operations. The dissection of each step of the Philippine Consulate General's Philippine visa process flow in Guangzhou with personnel participation is vital in recognizing areas of potential improvement. Hence, the action researcher will mainly focus on the second-person inquiry with the researcher's peers and superiors' full consent, participation, collaboration, and joint action in achieving a mutually desired outcome (Coghlan & Brannick, 2014).
To help meet the research objectives of the paper, the following are the current areas of the visa process flow guided by action researcher methodologies, change and operations management frameworks that the researcher wishes to co-inquiry with the latter's colleagues in the action research, to wit:
1. Look-out List (LOL) database of the Department of Foreign Affairs;
2. Consulate General Website, Official WeChat Account, and trunkline;
3. Visa personal interview, payment, and issuance of reminders;
4. Approval, Printing, and Assembly of visa stickers; and
5. Releasing and Scanning of visa applications.
Another vital element to consider in the action researcher in the Organization is ethics. Van Maanen (1979) argues that there are human action systems in which means and ends are guided by values and intended outcomes. As future Lasallian business leaders, we are responsible for promoting and implementing ethics in the workplace. Further to ethical considerations in this action research, the flourishing of human development of the current and future personnel of the Consulate General concerning human dignity will be one of the foundations of this research. How can we enhance the work output of the researcher's colleagues by increasing overall staff satisfaction, motivation, teamwork, and abilities? In the same vein, it upholds the overall health and well-being of the personnel. This research process may also improve the researcher's colleagues' lives by optimizing the visa process flow. |
