| Summary: | Faculty member of the Business management Department Dr. Benito Teehankee has been reappointed as Chair of the Technical Panel for Transnational Education (TNE) by Chairperson Patricia Licuanan of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED). TNE refers to higher education programs in which the learners are located in a country different from where the awarding institution is based. Teehankee chaired the technical panel which drafted the CHED Policies, Standards and Guidelines on TNE (CMO 2, s. 2008). As panel chair, he attended the Going Global 2011 conference in Hong Kong last March 10-12. Organized by the British Council, the conference promoted debate on the merits and pitfalls of TNE for enabling access to higher quality education. |
