Most of the species fall under the primitive families Gleicheniaceae, Schizeaceae, Dipeteridaceae, Cyatheaceae, Dicksoniaceae, Plagiogyriaceae, Matoniaceae, and Lycopodiaceae. At least two species have Halcon as type locality (Plagiogyria falcata Copel. and Lycopodium halconense Copel.). Although no species is endemic to Mt. Halcom, a good number of species have a rather restricted distribution.
