| Summary: | This study explored the similarities and differences between the learning beliefs of students and teachers. Seventy participants from a public secondary school in Manila completed the Learning Beliefs Survey Questionnaire (adapted from Atkin, 1996). Independent samples t-test was employed to test the difference between the learning beliefs of students and teachers. Results indicated that there is no significant difference between the learning beliefs of students and teachers. The findings showed that students and teachers in this study have learning beliefs which reflect moderate conception of constructivism but they also hold beliefs which are non constructivist in nature. The implications of the study and reflections on constructivism were discussed. |
