Description
Summary:The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) has emphasized the importance of children’s participation. Among the factors that foster children’s participation, trust emerges as a critical element. This study examines the trust relationship between the nuns, who are the program managers, and children in a residential care for children in need of protection. A review of the Sikolohiyang Pilipino (Philippine Psychology) reveals that the nuns manifest a profound trust where their kindness reflects a harmonious connection with the inner being of the children or pakikipagpalagayang-loob. The research also presents narratives of managers and children which point to the effect of trust on child participation.
