Duaqui, Yellowbelle D. Tapay, Nenita E. Gaut, Alexander, SVD Padit, Rogelio L. Small organization such as business establishments are in constant state of flux. Like the private enterprise in Los Baños, Laguna. Amid the growing pressure posed by local government policies to reduce waste and cognizant of the newly established ecological solid waste management system, the business sector-- one of the largest contributors to the volume of waste produced in the municipality next to the households-- is doing its part through waste reuse and reduction, creative innovations in their traditional packaging methods, as well as mutual collaboration with other business entities. The types of packaging commonly used are non-biodegradable materials such as styrofoam, plastic bags, and plastic eating utensils. Groceries and retail shops, fast food and restaurants, boutiques and gift shops, bakeries and bake shops, beauty salons and spas, service stations and computer/auto/machine repair shops, among other, are the business establishments included in the study. The dynamics of solid waste reduction undertaken by business establishments in Los Baños is discussed using organizational change as the main analytic frame with special focus on the concept of innovation. Emerging practices on packaging will thus be situated in the context of organizational change. 2009-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/faculty_research/4867 Faculty Research Work Animo Repository Waste minimization—Philippines—Los Baños Factory and trade waste—Environmental aspects—Philippines—Los Baños Packaging waste—Philippines—Los Baños Organizational change—Philippines—Los Baños Environmental Studies Industrial Organization
