The Java Programming Language is currently one of the most popular languages used for application development. This language is regularly used by the Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC), a research center of NASA, for the development of their software. This paper presents an analysis of the GSFC Java coding convention. A summary of the coding convention will be given. This is followed by an analysis of the programming language features and of the source code design features addressed by the coding convention including any possible disadvantages presented by the convention. Available tools relevant to the coding convention processes will be enumerated. Finally, possible improvements to the convention will be proposed and evaluated based on what issues they can solve and what they may potentially introduce. 2011-01-01T08:00:00Z text https://animorepository.dlsu.edu.ph/faculty_research/8584 Faculty Research Work Animo Repository Java (Computer program language) Coding theory Programming Languages and Compilers
