Summary: | System development life cycle (SDLC) is the systems development and improvement that organizations use for IT projects. The waterfall model of SDLC include the following phases : analysis, design. implementation, testing and maintenance. Conversion Strategy Plan will be prepared during the implementation phase, where it is the process of converting from old system to the new system. The objective' of the study is to identify and describe the conversion strategies adopted by the selected top corporations in Metro Manila, Philippines. The study likewise aims to look into the perceived advantages considered by these companies in their decision to implement the strategies. The research design used was descriptive. The data gathered (survey and interview results) from the respondent companies will be used for analysis. The data gathered (survey and interview results) from the respondent companies was used to discuss the innovative approaches to the adoption of conversion strategics and advantages which were perceived by 58 companies in Metro Manila namely in the following sectors: Service, Manufacturing and Merchandising Corporations. Based on the surveyed and interviewed, the proponent found out that there are 37 company respondents (or 63.79 %) mentioned that they adopted Phased Approach and Pilot Study as their conversion strategies. While 26 companies (or 44.83 %) staled that they used Parallel Approach as their conversion strategy. On the other hand, 21 company respondents (or 36.21 %) mentioned they used Direct Cutover Conversion. And some of the perceived advantages in adopting the conversion strategies were smooth transition, simple and straightforward, safe and cheaper implementation, reliable and accurate. reduces risk, allows opportunity to compare data and identify discrepancies, allows room for enhancement and additional customization and lessen computer crime. |
