Summary: | Facilitating the growth of psychology students in preparation for their future career in Human Resources (HR) related work is one of the important goals of the FEU Psychology Department. Understanding the intricates of psychology graduates' rich experience at various HR work will help in realizing this goal. Specifically, their experience at various HR work will help identify knowledge gaps which will in turn help improve the learning environment in classroom settings. Interpretative Phenomenological Analysis was used to explore and understand the meaningful experience of the 10 psychology graduates. Semi-constructed interviews were conducted to elicit the experience of the respondents who have at least 5 years of experience in an HR related work and are now performing supervisory level and managerial level tasks. Thematic analysis facilitated the identification of themes related to the competencies, conditions that facilitate/hinder their development, their characteristics and the consequent outcomes of their experience. |
