RayVi is the pioneer of the bilingual text format (English/Tagalog) of Philippine picture books and was part of the group responsible for the modernization of book design and publishing in the Philippines. He was the first to teach a course on children’s literature under the Interdisciplinary Studies Program of the Ateneo de Manila University.
