Description
Summary:Video analysis and modeling (VAM) is a new approach in performing experiments. This method involves smartphones and computer software. VAM has been used in sports, transportation, and security systems. However, there is little knowledge on the effect of VAM in education, specifically in Physics education. This study aims to determine the effect of VAM as tool in teaching Physics. It aims to know the effect of VAM on the achievement and attitude of students in Physics. This study was implemented in a private school in Surigao del Sur for four weeks. The study utilized two groups, the Non-VAM and VAM groups. Each group has thirty-five Grade 9 students. The results show that the mean post-achievement score of VAM group is significantly higher compared with the Non-VAM group (p=0.001). The mean achievement score of Non-VAM had increased by 44.71%. On the other hand, the mean achievement score of VAM group had increased by 78.67%, which is 33.96% higher. Moreover, the mean post-attitudinal Likert score of VAM group is significantly higher compared with the Non-VAM group (p<0.001). VAM groups attitude towards Physics has improved from neutral to positive, while the attitude of Non-VAM group remained neutral.
