Summary: | Open Access Marketing Phil Int. is a outsourcing company located
at Ayala, Makati. And it does not have an automated payroll system.
They were Computiong Salaries by manual and encoding record using
Microsoft Excel. Problems were encountered such as dishonesty in
time keeping of the employees and difficulty in computing the
company’s payroll. The company also encountered problems in
managing employee records such as finding or updating one’s record.
With these problems, the proponents developed a Network-Based
Payroll System with Biometrics Technology designed for Open Access
Marketing Phil Int. The purposes of the system were for easier
generation of the company’s payroll and for easier managing of
employee records. In finding solutions to the said problems, the
proponents conducted observations and interviews on the said
company to gain more information. The proponents used the V Model,
a variation of the waterfall model, in developing the system. The
proponents also used the Data Flow Diagram to map the company’s
processes and gain better understanding of it by analyzing the different
activities and process that is in the company. The proponents used an
Entity Relationship Diagram to illustrate the relationship between
different entities in the company.
Microsoft Visual VB.NET, an object-oriented comput
programming language and Microsoft Office Access, a relational model database server, were used in developing the system. The System used fingerprint recognition, which is the automated method of verifying a match between two human fingerprints. It automated the computation of the employee’s attendance based on their records by getting their log- in and log- out time. It also minimized miscalculations and data forging was next to impossible. The system had maintenance function to easily edit and update records. The system also featured a back-up and recovery function to have a copy and be able to recover important files. The system generated reports such as pay slips, payroll summary, bank and remittances reports using Crystal Reports.
The proponents came to a conclusion that the automation of payroll process is necessary for Open Access Marketing Phil Int. due to the many load that their payroll process consists. The Proponents also recommended the continuous implementation of the said system. |
