الملخص: | Guanine quadruplexes (GQ) with non-canonical four-stranded structures play a plethora of vital biological roles and technological functionalities. Metal complexes with extensive aromatic ligands could bind GQ with high specificity and possess unique features in biomedicine, biotechnology and nanotechnology. In this thesis, firstly Ru and Pt complexes were developed as the binders/stabilizers to target specific GQ topology in various cancerous cell lines. The complexes express excellent anticancer potency and GQ-dependent luminescence for intracellular tracking of RNA GQ. Secondly, the unique binding and electronic communication between metal complexes and GQ nanowires were applied to the electrochemical reduction of carbon dioxide. Unprecedented high efficiency and selectivity of metal dependent carbon dioxide reduction was realized on GQ nanowire decorated electrodes. |
