Summary: | Student Evaluation of Teaching (SET) is a commonly used instrument for measuring teaching effectiveness. However, SET results lack reliability, as they are influenced by many background variables, which could have influenced students' perception of teaching effectiveness, hence affecting students' rating decisions. A survey was done on 362 students from the School of Accountancy and Business of the Nanyang Technological University. Our findings indicate that majority of the students did not think that the intervening variables have an impact on their ratings of instructors. |
