Summary: | An indirect vector controller suitable for induction motor is investigated and
implemented using the Intel 80C196MC processor. The control system generates
sinusoidal waveforms using Pulse Width Modulation (PWM). This PWM signal is
obtained from the vector controller based on information from sensors, such as three
phase currents from hall sensors, and one rotor speed from an optical encoder. The
controller is operated in response to the speed references, which include step speed
reference commands at the starting, and reversal speed reference commands at the
running. The speed commands are set up to run the induction motor in both the flux
constant and weakening areas. The vector controller uses the rotor flux as constant
flux reference, which is determined by the motor parameters obtained from the motor
test. Experimental results are presented to show high performance of this vector
controller drive suitable. |
