Summary:Technology development and advanced applications system put pressure on enterprises to use appropriate decisions making methods on the allocation of resources in investment. The objective of the dissertation is to present a practical and comprehensive business framework for the evaluation of new but familiar technological programs, specifically under the Computer Integrated Manufacturing (CIM) environment. The presented model draws concepts from established principles, and covers issues that were not addressed by traditional financial analysis methods. The model gives focus on decision making based on risk, effort and strategic impact to the business organization. The model is intended to aid operational management in their request for and initiation of investment projects, to evaluate, select and present the proposal for resource allocation. This model is to be used as a reference for computer integrated manufacturing system selection decision support tool.
