Description
Summary:The grassroots scene in Singapore is not unheard of but its strucutre and numerous committees within have often been confusing for the average Singaporean to understand. What is the role of the People's Association (PA) in SIngapore's grassroots movement? The core of grassroots organisations is in its people and this photojoutnalism project aims to explore that. Why do people of all ages join grassroots organisations? How they have been assisting in their various roles and positions? And what keeps them in it? In recent years there have also been questions raised if the PA has been truly independent in its role. There have been a lot of ambivalance online on why people volunteer with grassroots based on their assumptions. This project aims to clear these misunderstandings and better understand our volunteers.
