Dementia patients are faced with increasing difficulties in coping with everyday activities. People with dementia need care according to their severity and family members or guardians might not have the necessary skills or knowledge for this demanding role. Professionals and caregivers in dementia care centre can help to monitor the patients, provide assistance with their Activities of Daily Living (ADL) and conduct basic activities and exercises with them. The Person-centred CARe (PEAR) application developed supports professionals and caregivers in providing better services to the dementia patients. It allows users to gain access to patient’s information such as schedules, prescriptions, allergies readily to better organize, plan and make decision for providing quality services. The objectives of this project are to improve the user experience and interface, extend the functionalities and enhance the performance of the PEAR application to better assist the professionals and caregivers. In the course of the project, existing pages were fixed and updated to accommodate the changes in the database due to a database revision. User experience and interfaces were also reevaluated and improved. New functionalities were added to ensure data integrity and accountability of actions. Additionally, a new page – Daily Highlight page was implemented to allow user have access to highlighted issues of patients. With these changes and new implementations, the PEAR application is expected to better cater to the needs of users.
