Description
Summary:In our current society, digital technologies are advancing and constantly integrating better technology together. With this, it caused the global demand for energy to increase and expand too. Hence, it brings about a challenge for the power grid to supply enough power to balance consumer loads while facing the improvements made in the world. Therefore, it is important to have an efficient Energy Management System (EMS). This project will design the Energy Management System by using the smart grid concept. To help manage the electrical demand, it is most recommended to use renewable energy. As Singapore is a small country and constantly being in its sunny weather, the most advantageous renewable energy source is solar energy. With this, it also includes the integration of photovoltaic system and wind system into the grid to control the reduction of burning of natural resources. The software program that this project will be using is LabVIEW. In this report, a scale-down EMS was implemented to show how energy was being tapped on from renewable energy and conventional energy. An ESP32 Wi-Fi module is added to allow consumers to view the power consumption from their smart devices.
