Summary:This study investigated physiological and behavioral changes occurring in supervised [S] (n=16; mean age ± SD = 43.9 ± 8.9 yrs) and non-supervised [NS] (n=14; 37.4 ± 8.0 yrs) groups of a 10 week fitness and wellness program following 1998 guidelines for the quantity and quality of cardiorespiratory and muscular fitness and flexibility in healthy adults (ACSM, 1998). Subjects (men=37%, females=63%) were recruited from staff at the National Institute of Education.
