There are many different types of sprinkler system out in the horticulture market today. Most of these systems are deployed to water without the regard of water amount output and frequencies of watering. Thus, the idea of a smart water sprinkler system was derived. This project aims to design an automated sprinkler that is able to water plants at specific time intervals with a pre-set amount of water. The project starts off with the conceptual design stage whereby the target audience and design consideration were defined. A few designs were conceived, but finally only one design was chosen based on multiple evaluation criteria. The detailed design covers all aspects of the final design that was chosen. This includes the mechanical structure and the electrical components that work in harmony to achieve the final product. This final product was then put through a number of tests to prove its functionality. Finally, this report will cover the future plans and improvements that can be made to this design.
