The paper commences by noting that there are virtually no research done on such use by journalists in Singapore. In particular, the paper looks at how 78 journalists respond to a survey on their use of hardware (in terms of portables) and software, as well as their use of on-line database research services and the Internet. Results showed that almost all journalists surveyed used only the word proccssors, the WWW as a tool of thc Internet, and in-house database services. This paper concludes with the observation of education institutions training future journalists in CAR, and proposes a possible trend analysis ofjournalists’ usage of CAR in the future.
