Summary: | The Flying Circus Project is the brainchild of Theatreworks’ Artistic Director,
Ong Keng Sen. Bringing together masters, performers and participants fiom different
parts of Asia, the symposium aims to provide a platform for the inter-cultural exchange
and experience of Asian traditional arts. Its main aim is to find an Asian voice in theatre. In light of Singapore’s efforts to promote the city-state as an international arts centre, the theme and subject of our exploration becomes even more relevant. Our
photojournalism project is poised to capture the spirit of the Flying Circus Project, with
an emphasis on the very process, as we document the search for a New Asia on stage. In doing so, we hope our visuals will stimulate the already growing interest in the
arts and theatre. |
