Description
Summary:Reading storybooks and print exposures for young children are some of the most important sources of literacy development. However, children today are bombarded with excessive stimulation and distraction, making it hard for them to concentrate of a single task for a prolong period of time. It has been suggested that technology-enhanced stories can positively influence potential literacy outcomes with their interactive features, quality assessment, repetition, and adult interaction. This paper describes the design of an interactive eBook termed Let’s Lo Hei, which aims to develop early bilingual literacy skills and increase engagement in a web learning environment. The eBook is made in HTML5 and JavaScript on Adobe Animate with key features including a multiple ending storyline, simple animations, and interactive games.
