Summary: | The Marketing Department of General Motors faces a very manual, tedious and repetitive monthly reporting to their local management and their headquarters in the United States of America. We walked through their entire process, analysed their business problems and needs, and came up with a make-or-buy analysis. Our proposal to General Motors was to create an automated system (which we ultimately called VARS – Vehicle Automation Reporting System) based on their existing resources, namely using Microsoft Access to build an application. Another proprietary program called PDF2Excel was bought to avoid legal issues due to encryption on their data file. |
