Using library of congress records as a knowledge-base for automated subject cataloguing assistance
This study evaluates a computer program that recommends 20 subject headings when a book title is input into the program. The objective of the study was to determine to what extend the program is useful as a subject cataloguing aid - in assisting cataloguers to assign subject headings to books.
