Despite the pronounced issue of divorce and remarriage, there is limited literature that delves into this matter in Singapore, much less so in the Malay community. Hence, this study aims to explore the factors that influence a divorcee‟s decision to remarry or to remain single. Nine Malay respondents between the ages 30 to 55 were interviewed, all of whom had gone through divorce at least once. Five respondents remarried while another four remained single. Their experiences were recorded and subsequently analysed to find themes to be used as bases for comparison.
